I have been avoiding doing an article like this one because I feel that I am not accomplishing as much as I would hope to in my pursuits of self-employment and self-sufficiency. But the main purpose of this site is to chronicle my journey so I figured I was a bit overdo for a personal update.
For starters I should mention that the popularity of this website thus far has been blowing me away. The amount of daily visits has increased exponentially each week since I first launched this Imnotarat.com a month ago. I really appreciate the sheer number of people who have come back repeatedly to read my articles. Hopefully you've been able to learn some things along the way so far, as I have been trying to learn as well. It's been fun seeing which articles are the most popular with visitors to this site. The DIY Wifi Egg Antenna has been the most popular thus far with Dandelion Jelly close behind. That one surprised me because I worried that people might not appreciate that kind of article.
Musically I've been writing a lot of new songs but haven't been able to put much time in in the studio lately to make progress towards something that might actually provide a bit of income.
I continue to write consistently and a lot of what I've been writing is this blog but I've also finally been really nailing down the outline and plot of a novel I've been brainstorming for quite some time now so I'm excited about that.
The self-sufficiency quest has been at a mild stand still for the moment thanks to a sprained (possibly broken) ankle. It is a bit sobering to think about what it would be like if I was self-employed and my income depended on my not being injured as I am right now. There is a bit of security to be found in the fact that where I work is not my business and my not being there on account of a broken ankle will not mean that there is no job to come back to once I am able. Another way of looking at it though is that that is just another lie we tell ourselves to convince ourselves that life is safer in the rat race where a big corporation will take care of all of our needs...that is until they lay you off for some arbitrary reason.
So that is what is going on with me lately. Because I just recently started this job I don't have much paid time off available to deal with my ankle, so anyone who feels like clicking on an ad go right ahead, I won't object one bit.
